Maytown is located in Lancaster County just a few miles from PA-283 and US-30. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Maytown to Lancaster and 40 minutes to drive from Maytown to Harrisburg.

Maytown was founded in 1760 around the time when the Western Frontier was just starting to be explored. One of the oldest properties in town, The Hastings House, likely dates back to the very first days of the village; today, the historic property is home to the Maytown/East Donegal Museum.
